Andy has over 25 years of experience working in natural resources management and protection. He has worked in state and national parks, state forests, wildlife refuges, town watersheds and for a land trust. Andy also founded and successfully managed his own environmental consulting company.

He has participated in and/or served as project manager for dozens of trail restoration and construction projects. He has completed trail assessments, new multi-use trail designs, visitor use impact assessments, numerous national recreation trail grant projects, supervised several staff and volunteer trail work crews and served on trail design and development working groups. His trail planning and constructing experience includes natural surface trails, ADA compliant trails, raised boardwalks, bridges, stone stairways and walkways, water crossings, as well as bog-bridging.

Andy has also participated in population surveys of waterfowl, bats and rattlesnakes. He has banded over 2000 waterfowl, prepared and presented live non-releasable wildlife education programs, maintained over 40 miles of boundaries, monitored conservation restrictions, prepared an agency-wide emerald ash borer (EAB) response plan, participated in prescribed burns, served on a hemlock adelgid working group and evaluated and ranked properties for conservation protection.

Andy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources from the University of Maine, College of Forest Resources. His licenses and certifications include USFS S212 chainsaw, MA DPL Hoisting Engineer, MA CDL B, MA Water Treatment Operator, Wildland Firefighter (Red Card), Search and Rescue Technician, OSHA 10-hr. safety, as well as American Red Cross First-Aid and CPR/AED.

During his free time, he enjoys paddling, hiking and cross-country skiing with his family and dog as well as riding just about anything on two wheels.
